Some of the people we’ve helped
Poseach in numbers
How is Poseach Es Yadecha different from all other Tzedakos?
It’s all about the people behind it
Baalei Chessed on overdrive. No surprise that the Social Worker in Hadassah Medical Center knew who to call when a hefty deposit was needed so that a Holocaust survivor without any family could be discharged with an oxygen supply. Even the Police turn to us for help. Recently, a child went missing and Poseach was called immediately. They knew that the caring, fast moving Gabbaim would be able to quickly mobilize the community for the search and provide support to the frantic parents.
Rabbanim
We are not only backed by Rabbanim – The Rabbis and Rebbetzins personally lead it. They are the fathers and mothers of our neighborhood. And take full responsibility. Click here to see what the Rabbanim say about us.
We don’t just distribute handouts
We are determined to break the cycle of poverty and rehabilitate. If someone needs a lifeboat, we send it, but as soon as we can, we get to the root of the issue. Do they need a job? Is there a medical issue? How can we help them get back on their feet? What support can their family and friends provide? What benefits are they eligible to from social services, national insurance or other government agencies? We take your Tzedakah 100% seriously and don’t waste a cent.
Innovative poverty prevention
We believe that money saved is money earned. Neve Yaakov is mostly comprised of hardworking people who make it through the month more or less. Any big expense, even Yom Tov can throw families into debt that is difficult to pay off. That’ why we do our utmost to save everyone money. We offer the entire community cost price disposables, dry goods, as well as arba minim before Sukkos and matzos before Pesach, saving millions of shekels. We also partner with Malbushei Kavod, saving an estimated 5 million shekel a year for about 10,000 people, providing quality kids, women and men’s clothes at cost-price. Other ways we help the community is with a second-hand furniture gemach, rides to hospitals, after-birth support, and free weekly advice sessions by professionals on family finance, bureaucracy, chinuch etc.
Achrayus membership
People commit to a monthly donation, and local businesses give discounts and rewards to Achrayus members. Monthly donations help us make a responsible cashflow forecast so that we can help families more reliably. We love innovation and host competitions to involve the community to find creative solutions.
